Arrival & Dismissal for JLSD 2021-2022

ARRIVAL

Our Pre-Check Attendance Screening Form is connected with our attendance and accessible via your Parent Portal. Parents and adult students are asked to check in before coming to the studio to help lessen the arrival processing time. (This can be done anytime on the day of class).

We ask everyone to wear a mask during the arrival process. Masks are recommended but not required for Creative A and Creative 3 dancers. Social distancing markers will be on the sidewalk in front of unit 31, our usual entrance. Staff will take everyone’s temperature before students enter the building.

Be sure you have completed your Pre-Check-In Attendance Screening Form.

  • Students will line up in designated areas according to class.
  • Students up will enter independently of a parent.
  • Students are to come dressed ready in their JLSD uniform and only bring their required change of shoes, water bottle (if taking more than one class)
  • For our younger students, parents please put on your dancer’s shoes before they enter the building and take their street shoes with you.
  • Older students remove their street shoes and put in their dance bag on the designated shoe rack and proceed through the changeroom to the studio.
  • All students will hand sanitize upon entering the building.
  • Upon entering the studio, students will be assigned a spot to place their dance bag and a dance spot.

Students must not come to class if they are unwell or have come into contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19 within the last 14 days.

 DISMISSAL

It is very important for parents to know that ALL classes will end 5-10 minutes prior to the time listed on the schedule. We need this time to line up students, dismiss and disinfect the studio before the next class begins.

  • ALL dismissals and pick ups will happen through the front door.
  • Students will put on their street shoes and use their personal sanitizer before lining up to go home.
  • Dismissals will be by class.
  • JLSD staff will escort dancers outside to meet parents.

 BEING ON TIME

For your dancers’ comfort in acclimatizing to an in person environment, and ease in new protocols, we cannot stress enough the importance of being on time for both arrival and dismissal. We will bring one class group in at a time and dismiss in the same manner. Upon dismissal we disinfect the studios before the next class enters.

Know that we will not leave students unattended at dismissal. A JLSD staff member will stay with them until a parent arrives.

We thank you in advance for your patience, support, and cooperation as we get back to dance. We will continue to monitor and update our Arrival & Dismissal as needed. Please d o not hesitate to reach out with your questions. We are working hard to provide a safe environment for our students, staff and their families.
