Minis (age 5-7) 

Jazz/Tap Combination class (age 5 – 7) Full Season

This exciting program offers students the best of both disciplines. The dynamics of Jazz combined with the rhythms of Tap make this an ideal class for your child.  This class will perform in both jazz and tap in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Ballet (age 5-7) Full Season

This program introduces the foundations of ballet.  Posture, placement and artistic creativity are fostered in a fun yet disciplined environment.  This class performs in our season end recital at held at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

AcroDance (age 5-7) Full Season

A safe, extensive curriculum that will give students the proper building blocks to become strong, confident AcroDancers. Each class will start with a dynamic warm up, end with a thorough cool down, and focus developing skills in the 5 elements of AcroDance: Flexibilty, Strength, Balance, Limbering, Tumbling. This class will performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Hip Hop (age 5-7) Full Season

Designed for the young child, this class uses the latest songs as the class moves through warm up, centre, travel and choreo. This current dance style helpsto develop your child’s musical co-ordination, fitness level and performance! This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Junior (age 7-11)

Jazz

The history of jazz is long and brings many styles into its circle.  From African Amercian roots, Vaudeville, Broadway, what ever the “dance of the day” was, it influenced jazz.  Today jazz is recognized by its jumps, turns, kicks and isolations.  It pulls in the grace of Ballet and the cutting edge of hip hop.  This style of dance is sure to challenge students.Moving on from the combo class this jazz program gets into more detail giving students “a leg” up in Jazz.  More isolations.  More complex combinations and travel work. This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Tap  

The complexity of the rhythms, the intricacy of the steps makes this style of dance exciting.  Working both the body and the brain Tap dancing tells a story with sound. Moving on from the combo class this tap program gets into more complex rhythms and time signatures.  Students are introduced to many of  Tap’s standard steps:  “The Buffalo, The Time Step the Grapevine” to name a few.  This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Ballet  

The foundation and strength behind all dance training.  From the barre to centre work, adage and petite allegro, turns and grand allegro students are guided, encouraged and challenged.  Students will build skill, confidence, performance style and artistry in their study of Ballet.  Developing strength, balance, posture and artistic quality are high on the agenda for this program! This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

AcroDance

Musical Theatre 

This class is geared towards kids with an interest in the world of theatre and performing.  Classes will focus on developing skills in acting, singing and dancing, building character, storytelling, facial expressions and lip-syncing.  Each class will consist of a physical warm-up followed by a voice warm-up.  Students will then use their new found skills to learn scenes and choreography from popular  musicals.   This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Lyrical  

This style feeds off of ballet and jazz.  Performed to music with lyrics, dancers interpret the song through movement.   This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Hip Hop 

Designed for youth, this class uses the latest songs as moving through warm up, centre, travel and choreo. This current dance style helpsto develop your child’s musical co-ordination, fitness level and performance! This class performs in our season end recital at the Living Arts Centre and the recital costume is included!

Tot & Junior Classes
