Intermediate AcroDance
Building on the concepts learned in Junior 2 AcroDance, this full season program will focus on increasing strength, power, control, and proper execution.
Dancers will work on a variety of skills including bridge with kicks, backbend to bridge without a spot, bridge kickover, handstand forward roll, one handed cartwheels, backward roll, balances and acrobatic partnering. Students at this level should be able to demonstrate a cartwheel on both sides.
Age: 11-14

Intermediate Ballet
In this full season program, dancers will be introduced to more advanced steps, and will learn new variations of steps from previous levels. In addition, building on the concepts learned in Junior 2 Ballet, exercises at this level become longer and more detailed.
Dancers at this level are expected to apply proper turnout and posture without instruction, have a great understanding/knowledge of ballet terminology, and have a great sense of balance/strength when executing exercises in the centre.
Dancers at the Intermediate level are eligible to join the JLSD ballet examination track.

Intermediate Hip Hop
In this full season program, dancers will develop an understanding of body isolations and musicality. In addition, building on the concepts learned in Junior ½ Hip Hop, dancers will start to add personal style or groove to their steps, and will begin improvising or making up their own choreography.
Dancers at this level are expected to demonstrate a strong sense of effort, remember the names of steps/terminology, take and apply critiques, and have stronger/bigger dancing.

Intermediate Jazz
Building on the concept learned in Junior 2 Jazz, dancers in this full season program will learn more advanced jumps, the foundations for fouetté turns, more intricate combinations, and will be working towards completing triple pirouettes.
Dancers at this level are expected to have a greater level of flexibility, be able to improvise, and be able to apply strength and proper technique at all times throughout class.

Intermediate Lyrical
Influenced by and incorporating movement elements from modern, ballet, and jazz, lyrical encourages freedom of movement, fluidity, and improvisation.
Building on the concepts learned in Junior ½ Lyrical, dancers in this full season program will learn a variety of physical skills, as well as how to improvise movement to any music, add artistry into their movement and make bold choices, and to express more complex emotions and stories through movement.

Intermediate Musical Theatre
This full season program is geared towards kids with an interest in the world of theatre and performing.
Building on the concepts learned in Junior ½ Musical Theatre, dancers will learn a variety of physical skills, as well as ear training basics, how to act out more complex emotions, basic audition etiquette, how to perform a short monologue, and how to adapt their movement style to different genres of musicals.

Intermediate Pre-Pointe
This full season program will prepare dancers for pointe work that occurs at the Senior ballet level.
This class will focus on building greater strength and articulation in the feet and legs. In addition, dancers will work on improving their alignment, placement, posture, control, and balance. All of the elements of focus in this class are crucial for the success and safety of dancers on pointe.

Intermediate Tap
Building on the concepts learned in Junior 2 Tap, dancers in this full season program will learn turning steps, new variations of steps from previous levels, and will begin learning the foundations of pick-ups and wings.
Dancers at this level are expected to be able to count steps and combinations with and without music, perform steps at a faster speed, and pick up and retain choreography.
Age: 11-14
